It was a long way back, when we were all taking care of those dragon eggs. I asked him for a bit of moonlacing to care for my child, and he helped readily. His heart is truly in the right space!

[Kay is quick to open the door and admit Marie into their humble apartment.]

Hello, Marie! Come in, come in! I cut up your Swiss roll slice and it's waiting for you in the dining room!

[ She beams at the girl, allowing herself in and getting led to the dining room where she finds the swiss roll slice and takes up the dish. ]

Pardon for coming only to eat this. I should have bought some little gift for you and Gumshoe.

[kayssistant]

No, no, it's no trouble at all. [She waves a hand dismissively.] I'm just glad you can enjoy my Swiss roll!

[ It's hard not to feel a bit bad, but then there's a Swiss roll in front of her and why isn't she eating it right now???

So she grabs a spoon, takes a chunk of the food, and eats it!

... Ohhh yes, that's the stuff she digs. ]

Sacre bleu, it is so sweet! I love it!

Thanks! Gotta make it sweet, like me! [Kay laughs heartily as she watches Marie eat, leaning against an empty chair. It always makes her feel so proud, seeing people enjoy what she made.]

Awwww, thanks! I mean, on top of baking, I've helped Gummy and Mr. Edgeworth solve cases back home as the Great Thief Yatagarasu!

[She draws herself up to full height - which is around 5'4".]

Catching bad guys is a looooot harder than baking Swiss rolls, but we can do anything as a team!

You are a... thief catching the bad guys! That sounds like a peculiar plot I have never heard of before!

[That's the true purpose of her hat, really. Anyway, Kay just laughs at how Marie says it, because...that's exactly it.]

Yep! But trust me, criminals' stories are much more peculiar than mine.

That can mean a lot of things! What sort of peculiar would make them more interesting than your story?

Hoo boy, where do I even start...there's this prosecutor who loves basketball so much he had to put one in the corridor outside his office, and then there's this lady who loves to give people hugs and kisses and believes in giving prisoners animals to rehabilitate them but is also a stone-cold killer, and a pastry chef who makes great candy but lost his sense of taste and abandoned his son.

[Yeah. It's a lot.]

My, I know some people whose histories are plenty wild, but those come pretty close to them!

[ Her own wasn't a joke either, especially the part where she befriended her own executioner. ]

Guess you meet all kinds when you're meeting people from different worlds, huh?

[She can only nod at that.]

That is verily true! For example, I have met the human incarnation of my home nation!

[ Austria. She's still looking for her beloved France. ]

You have met those kinds of people, have you not?

Yup! I met the United States of America, myself!

[It's too bad she hasn't heard from him in a long time...she presumes he's been sent home.]

He's...well, exactly how I imagined America to be if it became a person.

I had met him, as well! He was a pretty amusing man, although he had pretty colorful opinions sometimes.

[ Mostly bad takes against France, which she's still iffy about. She hopes he's doing alright. ]

I had also met the personifications of Italy and Germany as well!
